Q:How to charge UPS power supply?


As we all know, UPS power plays an important role in our work and daily life, it is usually the backup power supply of department stores, supermarkets, banks, and the base stations and could prevent the equipment from outage and regulate the voltage, so UPS uninterruptible power supply makes our work and daily life well organized. However, UPS power is usually considered maintenance free and the necessary maintenance is always ignored, thus reducing its service life.
The normal floating life of maintenance-free sealed lead-acid battery is 3-5 years at room temperature (usually at 25℃) under normal conditions and in regular use. But the unreasonable maintenance of battery has greatly reduced the service life of UPS power supply.
Here are three tips for maintenance:
1.The ambient temperature of battery should be 0-40℃ to avoid direct sunlight;
2.Normally, the battery should be charged and discharged every 3 to 6 months and the charging time should be not less than 10 hours after discharged.
3.UPS power should be charged every 3-6 months if long time idle.

Sacred Sun maintenance-free high temperature (HT) battery could work in air-conditioner absent conditions and its design service life is 10 years at 35℃. Why HT series battery could perform properly at high temperature? Some main reasons are listed as follows:

1.Vertical ribs with tapered structure and horizontal ribs with ellipsoidal structure are adopted to expend the service life of grids.
2.Lead paste with high density is adopted to increase the integration points among active material particles.
3.High temperature & humidity is adopted in curing process to form stronger structure of active materials.
4.High assembly pressure is adopted to prevent the active materials from softening.
5.Acid volume is limited to prevent over-discharge at high temperature.
6.Special carbon material is added to the negative plate to prevent sulfation of negative plates and improve charge acceptance.
7.Low density electrolyte is adopted to reduce the corrosion rate of positive grids. The electrolyte density of finished batteries should be no more than 1.285g/cm3.
8.The bus-bar structure and related welding process is optimized so as to improve the corrosion resistance of bus-bar.

Q:What do you know about pure lead batteries?


Pure lead batteries  are also one type of the lead-acid battery with broad application prospects which mainly used in the intelligent power systems, data room, large-scale energy storage, communication power systems, power quality and safety and so on.
Pure lead is the original lead that is not mixed with other alloys. Pure lead batteries are manufactured using pure lead grids that are generally made of high-purity original ecological lead through purification and stamping to form positive and negative grid lead strips. Unlike traditional gravity cast lead calcium tin alloy grids, pure lead grids are denser and more corrosion-resistant in high temperature environment! Compared with the alloy grid, the hydrogen evolution overpotential is higher, which effectively reduces the electrolytic water loss of the battery during the charging process, making the battery cycle and floating charge life longer!
Pure lead batteries  not only differ from traditional lead-acid batteries in raw materials, but also differ in manufacturing processes.
First of all, the biggest difference is reflected about "thin" ! Compared with the grid of the traditional lead-calcium alloy battery, the grid thickness of the pure lead battery is only about 1 mm, also the electrode plate is thin as well. In this way, a larger number of plates can be placed in the same space. This increases the total area of the plates in contact with each other, and it makes the performance of pure lead batteries more excellent in fast charging and high power discharge.
Secondly, the pure lead battery adopts a tight assembly and poor liquid design. The electrolyte is completely absorbed in the separator. There is no free electrolyte in the battery. The high purity lead alloy grid improves the hydrogen evolution overpotential of the electrode by 100mV. The oxygen recombination efficiency is high and no water replenishment is required.
Finally, the pure lead battery pole group adopts COS casting welding technology. The welding between the electrode plates is more reliable. The internal electrode group connection of the battery adopts TTP through-wall welding technology, the connection path is short, and the conductive area is larger. The battery pole adopts large diameter straight-out copper terminals, which has better conductivity and can output large current quickly. The whole battery sealing adopts advanced heat sealing technology, which has good sealing effect and more secure.
